How do I check a delivery against a packing list or invoice on iPhone?
Go through the packing list or invoice line by line, count what actually arrived for each
item, and compare it with the expected quantity. A line below its expected quantity is
short, a line above it is extra. On iPhone you can do this with a printout and a pen, or
with an app such as CountMinder that keeps the expected and counted numbers side by side
while you scan item labels.

Doing it by hand
Have the list ready before the delivery: the packing slip, invoice, or order
confirmation, with an item number, a description, and an expected quantity on each line.
Count in the unit the list uses. If a line expects cartons, count cartons; if it expects
individual pieces, open the packaging when you need to check what is inside.
Write each count next to its expected quantity as you go, not from memory afterwards.
Compare. Lines below expected are short, lines above are extra, and anything that
arrived but is not on the list goes on a separate note.
Send shortages and extras to the supplier with their item numbers, within the time their
terms allow.
Where CountMinder helps
Bring the list in as a CSV with item identifier, description, and
expected quantity columns, and review it before you start counting.
Scan labels with the iPhone camera. Auto mode prefers a barcode that
matches your list and falls back to reading the printed item number; Barcode and Text
modes are there when you want one or the other.
Enter quantities by hand when several matching items are in front of
you, or for loose pieces without a label.
See the difference as you count. Every line shows counted against
expected, marked Short, Complete, or Excess, and you can filter the list to just the
shortages.
Correct mistakes. Review recent counts, undo a scan, or adjust a
quantity; when a match is uncertain, CountMinder asks you to choose instead of guessing.
No account, and no connection needed to count. Lists and counts stay on
your iPhone.
Its limits
The list has to be a CSV. For a PDF or paper packing list, CountMinder gives you a
ready-made prompt to paste into an AI assistant you already use; the conversion happens
there, and you review the CSV before importing it.
A barcode counts only when it matches an item on your list or one you have linked
yourself. CountMinder does not look products up online or identify what is inside a
closed carton.
The free version covers up to 20 different counted items and one active list. A one-time
Unlock removes those limits and adds CSV export of your counts.
iPhone only, iOS 17 or later. It is a list-checking tool, not a point-of-sale,
purchasing, or warehouse-management system.
